Edward (Eshagh) Soleimani

Edward Soleimani was born in Tehran, Iran, with the name Eshagh (pronounced "es khawg"). He emigrated to the United States in 1950 to pursue an American education. Once here, he changed his name to Edward. He is known to everyone in his family as Sol. Many of his friends and acquaintances called him Eddie.
He always brought family together. He was a pioneer and independent thinker in many ways, especially in academia, as he was the first in his family to attend and complete multiple graduate and doctoral degrees before becoming an industrial chemist.
Regardless of how what name was used to address him, he was always known and will be remembered as a sincere and genuine man with a great heart and a special soul. He was righteous in his spiritual beliefs, and enjoyed the vortex of religion vs. nature vs. science. Alhough he was trained and thought like a chemist to understand complex chemical compounds, he without question appreciated and enjoyed the simple things in life, and believed that natural herbs and vitamins were the cure, much more so than common medicine. He has been known to have cured a number of people with his natural remedies, something of which he was always very proud.
With his wife of 32 years, Shahin, he was a supportive father who instilled hard-work and a humble nature to his three sons, Richard, Mark and Daniel. Their spouses—Svetlana, Geri and Liz—loved him very much and appreciated the love, generosity, and wisdom he shared with his six grandchildren. He never missed a birthday or celebration, and never arrived at anyone’s home empty-handed, even if it was for a cup of tea and a few rounds of backgammon.
Outside of his own family, Sol greatly appreciated and admired his nephew Jan Soleimani, whom he considered a fourth son. He was fortunate to be a senior adviser to Jan’s business in Secaucus, a task he truly loved and enjoyed in his later years.
Over the last several years, he developed a wonderful bond with Olga, a warm, intelligent and thoughtful person whom Sol considered to be his best friend.ys brought family together.
